Steve Perry, Johnny Cash and Paul Hoffner

Director of Public Works, Paul Hoffne,r has been with the City of Clarence since 1992. He is also the Planning & Zoning Administrator.

Number two man Steve Perry began working for the city in September 2007.

Residential Garbage is picked up on Wednesdays.

Commercial Garbage is picked up on Thursdays.

Recycling is picked up on the 2nd & 4th & any 5th Tuesday of the Month.

Water hydrants are flushed on the 1st Tuesday of the Month, weather permitting.

For your convenience there is a 24 hour PAYMENT DROP BOX located just outside the front doors at City Hall.

Duties of City Maintenance personal:
Maintain the Water Plant & Sewer Lagoons & do all daily testing & monitoring. Read water meters.
Garbage route on Wednesdays and Thursdays Recycling on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays as well as any 5th Tuesday of the Month. If there is a holiday on one of these days it is picked up the following day or an alternate day will be announced.

Brush pick-up on Mondays. Jet & film sewer lines on Thursdays. Flush water hydrants on the first Tuesday of the month, weather permitting.

Plow snow in the winter, and maintain all city properties by mowing, marking cross walks, parking places and other city facilities. They also do a variety of other jobs all over the city.

Municipal Water, Sewer & Garbage services are provided by the City of Clarence. For more information call City Hall at 563-452-3625. Water bills are mailed on the 1st day of the month in February, April, June, August, October & December and payment is due by the last day of that month. A $100.00 deposit is required from all renters. Water Plant & City Shop: 563-452-3778 Sewer Plant: 563-452-3170.

The city is also a member of the Iowa Association of Municipal Utilities.

The city is also a member of the Iowa Rural Water Association.
