Utilities
Water-Sewer-Garbage
There is $100 ($50 for water; $50 for sewer) deposit required with new applications.
Utility
bills are due by the 15th of the month. Penalties are applied to all
accounts not paid by the 15th. Late notices are sent out on the 16th.
Shut off notices are posted on the 25th of the month for any account not paid.
Water will be shut off on the 26th by Noon if payments have not been made. If
you receive a letter stating your water meter isn't working and it needs to be
changed by OJ Maintenance, please contact City Hall. Failure to work with the
City to check and replace meters will also result in water service being
disconnected.
Water rates are $14.00 for the first 0-500 gallons and $3.15 for every thousand (1,000) gallons after. The Minimum charge shall be $14.00 per household or business building per billing month.
A surcharge of
$3.00 will be added to each and every water bill, including, but not limited
to residential, business, church, organizations, residences where owners
leave for an extended period. The money accumulated through this surcharge
will be used to help pay for water main, water well or other water projects
that can not be paid through annual budget expenditures. The money collected
through this surcharge will accumulate through a savings account or
certificate of deposit.
Base rate for sewer is $8.61 per month-per meter
for 0-500 gallons. All usage over 500 gallons per month will be billed
at 70% of net water usage. In addition, $30 per month will be billed for the
WWTF (Waster Water Treatment Facility Fund). These funds go towards paying
the State Revolving Fund Loan the City of Oxford Junction obtained for
adding a 3rd Lagoon Cell.
Garbage Pick up is Tuesday
mornings. Please have your garbage out by 6:00am. If a Holiday
falls on Tuesday, garbage pick up will be the following day.
Recycling: Glass should
not be placed in bins for recycling. Paper, plastic, tin and cardboard can be mixed. Large cardboard can
be set aside if it is too large for a recycle container. Please remember, even
though
the material is handled by machines there is a stage involving hand sorting.
Items should be rinsed and used tissues and other soiled items should be
discarded. A good rule of thumb is, if you wouldn't like to handle something
then you should not put it in the recycle bin.
YARD WASTE PICK UP is every Thursday morning during season. Grass trimmings, weeds, garden waste, and small tree branches will be picked up if properly bagged or bundled. Please put your waste in a bag or a box for easy pick up. If you can easily lift it, it is small enough for us to pick up. You will need to contact City Hall to have your name added to the list for pick up. There is a $25 charge if more then one trip has to be made to remove your yard waste. If in question, call City Hall to request Terry to check it before he picks it up.
