SPECIAL MEETING, May 7, 2009. A special workshop of the Oxford Junction City Council was held in front of City Hall, along 1st Ave N and along Main St at 6:00 p.m. Mayor Tank called roll call. Council members present were Schewe, Dobling and Balichek. Martin entered at 6:48 and Bonny was absent. Staff present were Hansen and Wink. Visitors were Mark Jobgen and Tom Oster with IIW Engineering and Russ Krejci.
Moved by Balichek seconded by Dobling to approve the agenda. All Ayes. Bonny and Martin absent. Motion Carried.
The Council and Engineers walked both sides of Hwy 136 on 1st Ave N and Main St. Mark Jobgen from IIW Engineering explained what the Iowa DOT had in their plans and the Council discussed what they wanted kept and what they wanted out of the plans in terms of parking and curb and gutter. They also discussed where the DOT would be putting pedestrian ramps and added a couple more to the plans. Jobgen also showed the Council where the water mains would be moved to.
Moved by Martin seconded by Schewe to approve having IIW Engineers do the design work and the City paying for the design work for the pedestrian ramps and the Iowa DOT paying for the actual ramps. All Ayes. Bonny Absent. Motion Carried.
Moved by Balichek seconded by Dobling to adjourn the meeting at 8:00 p.m. All Ayes. Bonny Absent. Motion Carried.
