Fire Chief Denny Coon reported no fire calls for the month.  EMT class will be starting on Wed. February 11th.  The OJVFD will be celebrating 100 years next year and they will be planning a celebration.  They would like to take down the hollow tree at the old telephone building behind the fire station.  There will be no cost to the City for this.  EMA has created a mass texting system which is called ALERT IOWA.  Residence can sign up to get notifications in their area by text messages or emails.  There will also be subgroups set up such as fire departments, cities and police.

The Mayor brought in a rusted piece of metal that fell off of our red dump truck.  We will either need to look into getting it fixed or purchasing a new truck.

Tank reported the landfill hired a new engineer to take care of the testing.  They are in negotiations with a neighbor about buying more land.
