Morris Memorial Park

Morris Memorial Park is a beautiful, 60 acre park located 4 miles northeast of Stockport. This area was settled in 1838 by Henry and Jane Morris and the park was founded in 1938 by their grandsons, John and Arthur Morris. A replica of the original Morris cabin was erected at this time and donations allowed for the creation of a 7 building museum which house antique farm tools, machinery, household articles and clothing.

Facilities available to the park user include a picnic shelter, playground, tables, grills, camping, electricity, water, modern restrooms, showers, hiking trails and a one acre fishing pond which is abundant with bass, bluegill and channel catfish.


Austin Park

This river access area contains 6 acres located 2 miles northeast of Pittsburg. The multi-use river access area has opportunities available for camping, picnicking, fishing and boating access to the Des Moines River. Facilities available include an open shelter, toilets, water, electricity, campgrounds, playground, picnic tables, grills, and boat ramp.



Bentonsport River Side Park

Bentonsport, a prosperous town during the steamboat era is located 5 miles east of Keosauqua. The town today offers recollection of this period of history with the preservation and restoration of many of the store buildings and residences.

Facilities include historic antiques and craft shops, museums, Gothic style picnic shelter with flush toilets, bandstand, camping with electricity and water, fishing, and a boat ramp to the Des Moines River.


Lake Sugema Recreation Area

The 20-acre Lake Sugema Recreation Area is located on the southeast side of 574 Lake Sugema. Since receiving a R.E.A.P. grant in October of 1993 to develop this area, the Van Buren County Conservation Board has undertaken the development and management of a first-class campground and day-use area.
