Raiders lose to Solon

Williamsburg took on the undefeated Solon Spartans at Solon Friday, Jan. 11 in varsity boys basketball action and came up on the short end of a 64-51 final. The Class 2A, No. 2 Spartans moved to a perfect 10-0 on the season while the Raiders slipped to 4-7.
Solon led 21-15 after the first period and were up 39-25 at halftime. Williamsburg held an early first period advantage at 8-2 in the first three minutes of the game before the Spartans held the Raiders without a point for a three minute stretch.
Bryce Von Ahsen led the Raiders with 18 points and five rebounds. Chad Malloy added 12 points, six steals and three assists for Williamsburg. Both Ross Doehrmann and Josh Cox scored six points apiece for the Raiders, while Aaron Von Ahsen tallied four points.
Williamsburg 69, CCA 41
Williamsburg earned a season split with the Clear Creek Amana boys basketball team in a home contest Tuesday, Jan. 8 with a 69-41 drubbing of the Clippers.
Aaron Von Ahsen was the leading scorer in the game for Williamsburg with 21 points, including four three-pointers in the game.
Ross Doehrmann had 15 points and Josh Cox finished with 10 points and seven rebounds for the Raiders.
Chad Malloy finished with eight points and a team-high four steals against CCA. Bryce Von Ahsen added five points, six rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots in the win for Williamsburg.
The Raiders led 18-12 after the first period and 31-22 at halftime. They extended to a 47-27 lead after three periods of play.
