WHS prom will take on ‘high rollers’

The public is invited to attend the 2010 Williamsburg High School prom processional and coronation in Messer Auditorium Saturday, May 1.

This year’s theme is “High Roller.” Prom processional will start at 8 p.m. in the auditorium. The processional will feature the prom court and their escorts, as well as Williamsburg High School students and their dates. Parents and students are asked to enter through the outside doors by the auditorium. The suggested freewill offering is $1.

Coronation of the prom king and queen will follow at 8:30 p.m.

Court pictures and junior and senior class pictures will be taken by O’Connor Photography in the auditorium immediately after the coronation. Couples and groups can have professional photos taken from 9 to 11 p.m.

The dance will be held from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. in the high school gym. All students attending the dance must arrive by  9:30 p.m. Parents and members of the public interested in viewing the prom decorations in the gym may stop by for open house from 9 to 11 a.m. Open house hours will be the only time the public will be granted access to the gym.


Hayley Blythe is the daughter of Doug and Michelle Blythe, Williamsburg. Activities she is involved in at Williamsburg High School include student council, FCCLA, Sirens, show choir, band, choir, improv club, speech, drama, youth group, Poms, National Honor Society and AP statistics.

Hayley’s mini-attendants are Charlotte Wetjen, daughter of Sean and Mary Wetjen, Williamsburg, and Luke Kleinmeyer, son of Jared and Leah Kleinmeyer, Williamsburg.

Escorting Hayley is Mitchell Widmer.

Mitchell Widmer is the son of Dave and Roni Widmer, Williamsburg. School activities he is involved in include band, choir, jazz band, show choir, speech and drama club, Win With Wellness, En Harmony, track and cross country.

Kiley Ritchie is the daughter of Curt and Kim Ritchie, Williamsburg. Activities she is involved in include cross country,  Blackouts,  track,  student council and Win With Wellness.

Kiley’s mini-attendants are Sadie Dobbins, daughter of Jesse and Amber Dobbins, Williamsburg, and her brother, Cade Ritchie.

Escorting Kiley is Taylor Johnston.

Taylor Johnston is the son of Steve and Lori Johnston, Williamsburg. Activities he is involved in include soccer, cross country, band, choir, show choir, speech, drama, En Harmony, National Honor Society and marching band.

Hannah Wilson is the daughter of Joe and Leann Wilson, Parnell. She is active in basketball, softball, student council, National Honor Society and Win With Wellness.

Hannah’s mini-attendants are Payton Driscoll, daughter of Chad and Jodie Driscoll, Williamsburg, and Nile Sinn, son of Jeff Sinn and Deanne Folkmann, Williamsburg.

Escorting Hannah is Tyler Greiner.

Tyler Greiner is the son of Jay and Mary Greiner, Williamsburg. At WHS, he is active in football, basketball, track, baseball and National Honor Society.


Channing Doehrmann is the daughter of Kenton and Christine Doehrmann, Williamsburg. At WHS, she is involved in student council, FFA, wrestling cheerleading and is a letter winner.

Channing’s mini-attendants are Elizabeth Stohlmann, daughter of Joel and Jessica Stohlmann, Marengo, and Lincoln Schropp, son of John and Jeni Schropp, Parnell.

Escorting Channing is Colton Koch.

Colton Koch is the son of Marty and Martha Koch, Williamsburg, and Tracy and Juan Tud.

Activities he is involved in include FFA, wrestling, baseball and football.

Chantal Knepper is the daughter of Guy and Laurie Knepper, Williamsburg. School activities she is involved in include student council, speech and drama, softball, track, basketball and National Honor Society.

Chantal’s mini-attendants are Emerson Czizek, daughter of Autumn and Clint Czizek, Williamsburg, and Will Schulte, son of Megan and Jeff Schulte, Williamsburg.

Escorting Chantal is Adam MacDonald.

Adam MacDonald is the son of Melinda MacDonald, Homestead. He is active in football, student council, DECA and FFA.

Lana Miller is the daughter of Ted and Sandy Miller, Williamsburg. Activities she is involved in include FCCLA, National Honor Society, basketball, student council, choir, show choir, Sirens, color guard and Win With Wellness.

Lana’s mini-attendants are her niece and nephew, Vanessa and Gavin Wise, children of Lynelle and Justin Wise, Des Moines.

Escorting Lana is Cord Slaymaker.

Cord Slaymaker is the son of Jeff and Lisa Slaymaker, Williamsburg. Activities he is involved in include football, soccer, FFA and “generally causing a ruckus.”
