Tanger gives back to community
In the spirit of the holidays and the season of giving, the Tanger Outlet Center, Williamsburg, gave $28,718 to the American Cancer Society Midwest Division Dec. 15. The donation is part of Tanger’s Annual Breast Cancer Awareness campaign.
Tanger’s 2009 campaign to battle breast cancer ran during late fall, with funds being raised through the sale of the Tanger Pink Card. For a $1 donation to fight breast cancer, Tanger customers received a special pink discount card that gave them 25 percent bonus savings at participating partnering Tanger stores. The pink card program is now in its fourth successful year at Tanger Outlet Centers coast to coast.
“The support that we received from our retailers and our shoppers this fall was incredible,” said Theresa Phillips, general manager of the local Tanger Outlet Center. “By working together we can continue to help save lives and make a real difference in our community.”
The Tanger Outlet Center also donated a total of $5,500 to four local entities — the Williamsburg Police Department, Williamsburg Fire Department, Williamsburg QRS and the Williamsburg Recreation Center.
