The Newhall City Council met Feb. 22 at the city hall.
Fund totals are:
General Fund $4,000.41
Road Use Tax $768.32
Water Utility $1,953.41
Sewer Utility $2,007.85
Fund Total $8,729.99
Public Works Director Furler reported that the pump at the lagoon went out and needs to be repaired.
New Business: The council accepted the bid of $50 per hour from Gessner Auto for the maintenance and repairs on the city vehicles.
The council approved Resolution 100222, setting a public hearing date of March 8, 2010 for a sewer revenue loan and disbursement agreement.
The council set the public hearing date of March 8, 2010 for the FY10 budget amendments.
The council also set a public hearing date of March 8, 2010 for the FY11 budget. All ayes motion carried.
The council accepted the resignation of Scott Keiper from the Newhall Fire Department.
Unfinished Business: The library board was present. Nancy Cardwell spoke on their behalf regarding the library FY11 budget.
The council approved the city clerk purchasing a new computer and external hard drive for no more than $900 if the computer crashes before the next meeting.
City clerk informed the council of the overwhelming positive results of the survey sent out regarding auto-pay of the water bills.
City clerk informed the council of a new e-mail notification process that the clerk’s office will be starting. Council felt this was a great way for anyone to get important Newhall news sent to them via email.
Council approved the city clerk attending the ECICOG Regional Clerks Workshop.
Mayor Brandon Thompson informed the council that the structure of the council meetings would be changing due to citizen’s request.
