Detour planned for railroad work in Belle Plaine

Belle Plaine officials recently announced detour plans for Seventh Ave. (Highway 21) while the Union Pacific Railroad works on the railroad crossing on that street.

On Aug 17, the Belle Plaine City Council will pass a resolution to allow the following temporary changes, according to Belle Plaine Police Chief Kris Husdson:

A detour will go into effect on Aug 24, 2009.

There will be NO PARKING on 11th St. from Seventh Ave. to Eighth Ave.

Also NO PARKING on Eighth Ave. from 11th St. to 13th St..

A temporary stop sign will be placed for westbound traffic on 13th St. at Eighth Ave.

Also temporary stop signs will be placed on Eighth Ave. at 12th St. for both north and southbound traffic.
