While the Retreat's luncheon crowd is made up of a good mixture of local citizens and visitors, most of our evening clientele are tourists from all over Iowa. People come to the Retreat because they know they're going to get their money's worth. We don't try to cut corners on anything. We don't have anything fancy, we just serve good food . . . the best food money can buy!
We welcome you to join us. Many of our guests have been visiting us for years and years from all around Iowa and the Midwest. If you enjoy yourselves (and we think you will) tell you friends and other family members about us!
The Bonaparte Retreat, housed in the original Meek's Mill, is a National Historic Site having been placed on the National Historic Register in 1983. Rustic decor emphasizes the building's history. We hope you will agree that the restaurant reveals the charm of days gone by with the original brick walls, exposed wood beams and interesting assortment of collectibles.
