What is Team Llama? Team Llama is a 4H affiliated club that is dedicated to learning how to properly care for, groom, train and show llamas. Members must be within the required age group for 4H (4th grade through 12th grade) however they need not be a member of a regular 4H club. Our members DO NOT need to own a llama nor will they ever be required or expected to buy one. Our meetings are held once weekly from early May through late July. The only show that our members are required to attend is the Kossuth County Fair llama show, however they will have the opportunity to attend other shows throughout the summer and fall if desired. All members are assigned a llama which they will train and show for that show season. Meetings are held at Black Cat Creek Farm on a mutually agreed evening and each meeting lasts approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. Attendance at all meetings is required except in the case of illness, family vacations, etc. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend meetings with their children (particularly for the child's first year of involvement). Please email us for more information if you or someone you know may be interested in joining Team Llama.
