June 15, 1977, was the first day of Pastor Richard Friend's ministry at the Bethlehem Christian Church. He attended Vennard Bible College in University Park, IA. He is ordained through the Association of Fundamental Ministers and Churches, Inc. The AFMC headquarters is located in Kansas City, Mo. He is the National Chairman of the AFMC.
Pastor Friend provides Bible studies for the residents at both the Bloomfield Care Center and the Long Term Care at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield, IA.
He is active in the community. Pastor Friend has been serving on the Drug Free Schools Community Advisory Committee since February 16, 1995. He is a member and treasurer of the Davis County Ministerial Association. The DCMA is responsible for several community events.
