What do I need to know about the Holy Spirit?

You may have noticed that many of the pages in your book have a Q & A section above the verses. What you may not have noticed is that you are supposed to memorize the answers to those questions and recite them to your leader. I'll give you a hint here: MEMORIZE THEM NOW TO SAVE YOURSELF A LOT OF TROUBLE LATER! You will be expected to go back and recite them (when you least expect it!) and you'll also need to know a backup verse for each answer.

After you look over the answers to the question, test your memory on the backup verses.

What do I need to know about the Holy Spirit?

I need to know that:

I am baptized by the Holy Spirit. I Corinthians 12:13a     Colossians 2:12

I need to know what it means to be filled with the Spirit Galatians 5:16     I Peter 2:2

The holy Spirit helps me pray. Romans 8:26     I John 5:14

I am sealed by the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 1:13     Ephesians 4:30

The holy Spirit is the earnest (deposit) of my salvation. 2 Corinthians 5:5     Ephesians 1:14

The fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace. Galatians 5:22-23

The fruit of the Spirit: patience, kindness, goodness. Ephesians 4:1-3     Ephesians 5:9

The fruit of the spirit: faith, meekness, temperance. 2 Peter 1:5-8
