Ptah was God of Memphis, captial of Egypt in the Old Kingdom (approx. 2600 B. C.). He was also the patron deity of artists and craftsmen. His scepter has symbols of ‘life and stability’. In ancient Egypt Ptah was considered to bring the creation energies from Ra into physical manifestation. Ptah is depicted in mummiform, wearing a skullcap.
