This movie is about a middle-aged hard rocker stuck in the past named Joe Dirt (David Spade), who is traveling around the country hoping to track down his parents after getting lost at the Grand Canyon at the age of 9. Joe meets many interesting characters along the way, including Clem (Christopher Walken), a fellow school janitor, fireworks stand owner, Kicking Wing (Adam Beach), and a sweet country girl named Brandy (Brittany Daniel). Joe Dirt’s upbeat attitude and various peppy phrases like “Life’s a garden, dig it” add a quirky charm to what could be construed as a very unfortunate character. While working as a janitor at a radio station, Joe ends up telling his story to radio DJ Zander Kelly (Dennis Miller) in hopes of reconnecting with his family and possibly with his old friend, Brandy.
