Shecky Moskowitz (Adam Sandler) wants desperately to be a comedian. He decides to try his hand at being a comedian on a cruise ship which is holding a Miss Universe contest on board. The job is already filled, so he signs on as a lowly waiter, hoping that fate will lend him a hand. The comedian on deck is Dickie Diamond (Scott LaRose), a ladies man in his prime element. When Dickie appears to have been lost at sea, Shecky realizes he can step up and take his place in the spotlight. At the same time, the ship is being bombarded by groups of thugs, mercenaries from Panama and terrorists. This is Shecky’s only chance to prove himself as a successful comedian in the midst of all of the insanity.
