For an Irish immigrant, Dillon (Peter Mullan) has done quite well for himself in the post California Gold Rush of 1849. He has settled in a town called Kingdom Come and his wealth contains nearly everything in the town. Although one business has yet to come under his watch and that is the town brothel. The brothel is owned by Lucia (Milla Jovovich) who is also Dillon’s lover. But his best laid plans of owning the entire town are about to come to an end. The Central Pacific Railroad has sent Dalglish (Wes Bentley) to Kingdom Come to begin the survey for a new rail line. Dillon believes that this will jeopardize his holdings. So he fights the rail company with everything he has. But what Dillon doesn’t count on is the arrival of Elena (Nastassja Kinski) who holds a troubling secret to Dillon’s past.
