Kevin Caffery (Martin Lawrence) is a thief who tries to rob rich man Max Fairbanks (Danny DeVito). Kevin is caught in the act, and Max gives him a taste of his own medicine. He steals Kevin's ring right off his finger, claiming it was his own. It was no ordinary ring, however. The movie revolves around Kevin's comedic attempts to get it back, and Max's determination to teach the thief a lesson. The two men butt heads and egos constantly, but in a funny way. The viewer is left guessing until the end, and might be surprised by the ending!
