I attended the "Odyssey of Flight 2001" air show at the Space Coast Regional Airport in Titusville, Florida on March 9th. This was the first day of the Friday, Saturday, Sunday event. There was a real good turn out on the day I was there but I don't know attendance figures. I was told there were over 60 'War Birds' present with more on the way - The show total was scheduled to be 80 plus aircraft not counting fly-bys of military aircraft.
The two Mohawks that attended were both OV-1D models; 69-17004, "Balls 4," owned by Mike Vande Voort and flown by Denny Hegland and 68-18926 owned and flown by Paul Pefley and Chuck Clapper and Benny Hardman. The crew Chief for both birds was Eric Williams. Benny and his wife Ida drove down from the Ft. Rucker, AL area to attend the event.
The two OV-1D 'Parts Bins' I found resting on the field belong to Mike Vande Voort. The one closest to the camera is 68-16994 and the other is 69-16998..
Hope you enjoy the pictures, I enjoyed taking them.
